In SDR mode it's working pretty well at it's brightest on my monitor it is reporting back up to 387 cd/m on the white level. As the title states I have an issue when I am testing for white level.in HDR mode. In that vein, I prefer X-Rite's software as I thought it was more feature rich and easier to use. I'm using a Spyder5 device to calibrate my monitor using Displa圜al. That said, we generally think this cheaper option is a false economy in the long term.

I purchased the Express version as I couldnt justify nearly double the price for a few more settings as I use my PC for gaming, not Pro photo stuff. Displa圜AL treats the Spyder5 (or rebadged Spyder 5s, like the Eizo EX3) as a full Spyder5 sensor, without artificially imposed limits on settings etc, and is thus the the vastly better software option for use with the cheaper members of the Spyder5 series. I'm not advocating one over the other as I've used both Data Color and X-Rite. Hoping someone can help out with a few questions regarding a newly purchased Spyder 5 that I am getting to grips with. Many people will swear by X-Rite over Data Color, but it's mainly opinion and popularity where X-Rite has the bigger share of the market, just as Photoshop does in the photo editing world. That said, either Data Color (Spyder) or X-Rite are also good at calibrating a monitor, it just comes down to feature and likes. I don't use the X-Rite software, nor do have it installed because the SpectraView software is specifically designed for NEC's professional monitors where it directly talks to the monitors built-in LUT table, whereas X-Rite's software only talks to the video card.

And while I do have the X-Rite i1DisplayPro system, I just use the puck with NEC's SpectraView software. Well I can't answer your question because I use a different method.
